P[R]OPPING UP FAIR TRADE in Perth WA this Fair Trade Fortnight
Who are we?
The Fair Trade Pop Up Store is a joint initiative of the Oxfam Australia WA State Committee, Enactus UWA and the WA Fair Trade Collective that aims to raise awareness among students, young professionals, and the wider Perth community of Fair Trade products as a retail option which is of high quality and socially responsible.
What is The Fair Trade Pop Up Shop?
Capitalising on the recent novel trend of Pop-Up Shops, our project will help to showcase a variety of high quality products which have been Fair Trade certified. Our wide variety of products such as chocolates, coffee, carpets and hand-made jewellery has been carefully sourced from countries such as Cambodia, Bangladesh and India. With items going for as low as $5, The Fair Trade Pop Up Shop allows one to indulge in affordable and ethical shopping.
Why are we setting up The Fair Trade Pop Up Shop?
The theme of Fair Trade Fortnight 2012 is “Every Choice Matters”. With the Fair Trade Pop Up Shop we aim to show to the public that by choosing to buy Fair Trade we help to contribute to the elimination of world poverty, by empowering farmers and producers in the developing world.
